I served in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps for 23 years, so anything related to the Marine Corps always catches my eye. During my service, I had many opportunities to work with U.S. Marines as both a colleague and an instructor. That’s why, on my way back from a business trip, I decided to stop by and visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps in the United States. At the museum, the most striking quote I saw was from U.S. Marine Corps Colonel David Shoup: “Casualties many. Percentage of dead not known. Combat efficiency—we are winning.” It left a strong impression on me.
